By What did the bird say when it flew into Wal-Mart looking for a T-Mobile G1? Cheap, cheap, cheap! Rumor has it that starting on November 24th, Wal-Mart will be offering the T-Mobile G1 for over $30 dollars off the price you’ll find at T-Mobile stores. That’s right… $179.99 at Magenta and $148.88 at Wallies… for a savings of $31.11.
That would be an interesting scenario, but how legit are the rumors? You’ll have to ask EngadgetMobile who got the news by way of anonymous tipster. The only evidence – if its supposed to be evidence – is the photograph that comes with the story:

Alright, alright… terrible example. Point being, file it in the rumors-only category for now. We wouldn’t be surprised if it wound up true but lets not jump to any conclusions, afterall, $30+ does sound like a pretty deep discount for an almost brand new phone.

The guy who runs the little cellular kiosk at the local Costo thinks he’ll have G1’s for $149.99 in a couple weeks.
Its $154 now at T-Mobile stores.
November 10th is when the next shipment of G1s hit stores in general.
The white model could be in the 10th or 24th shipment.

We are supposed to get a shipment of the G1’s on tomorrow or wednesday. At least thats what our Tmobile corporate reps keep telling us.
I spoke to Walmart in San Diego today and he said they wont in fact get the G1 til around November 10th which I believe is the case for all Walmarts – counter to what their spokesperson said yesterday.

what are you guys talking about? i checked at walmart they do not have the G1. today is 11-29-08 and you guys are talking about how it should be instore on the 10th of Nov. i checked with people at walmart who do not know what G1 is lol. seriously is this a joke?
