I'm an Android and Tech lover, but first and foremost I consider myself a creative thinker and entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for ideas of all sizes. I'm a sports lover who cheers for the Orange (College), Ravens (NFL), (Orioles), and Yankees (long story). I live in Baltimore and wear it on my sleeve, with an Under Armour logo. I also love traveling... where do you want to go?

  1. Finally! was hoping to listen this morning, but the “Listening on Monday Morning Commute” promise was not fulfilled. It’s all good, though! Will listen the moment I get home.

  2. Sorry about that Quentyn… Hopefully it was worth the wait!

  3. Nice show Phandroids!

Have some of you (Joey?) managed to successfully program Bluetooth on Android?

    Here’s a couple of suggestions:
    – add “application of the week/episode” review/contest
    – do an overview of the latest forays into Android development (interesting things developers have managed to implement using Android SDK)
    – future uses of Android platforms (latest news about Android OS used in notebooks, set-top boxes, cars, fridges)
    – …

Keep up the positive Android vibe!

    Cheers!

  4. I think it’s Rob, please stop saying I dunno. Arhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  5. I have more suggestions regarding yoru podcast.

You might want to fix the track info (Name, Artist, Album, Description) so that it shows properly in media players. For example, iTunes shows concatenated Artist – Name while there’s no Artist name. Description text is not ideal either (contains blank space and escaped characters like &#8217 for reverse apostrophe I guess). You’re missing Phandroid artwork too. :-)

Having all this in place is good for audioscrobbling (e.g. via last.fm) and provides a better user experience, among other things.

    Cheers!

  6. @Shonzilla – Thanks for all the suggestions. Some really good ideas here and we’re gonna get on them ASAP!

@Andrew R – Episode 4 will be dedicated to you and I am considering legally changing my name to “I Dunno” for the day to celebrate your suggestion. Hah jk. Thanks for the comment. I’ll try to get my public speaking skillz on a little better. Thanks man!

  7. Would it be possible to make it such that the audio link shows up in google reader?

  8. @Brian Black – I didn’t know it DIDN’T display in reader. We’ll add that to the never ending to do list hehe. Thanks for the comment/suggestion!

  9. Hey guys, nice show, and welcome back Spencer! No offense but last week was almost like Rob talking to himself the whole episode. It seemed like pulling teeth to get Joey to say anything. Not to be overly critical, but similar to Rob’s frequent “I dunno” comments are Spencer’s “You know” remarks every few seconds. I realize you guys aren’t professional radio people or anything, so just some friendly constructive criticism. :)

I love Shonzilla’s ideas about app reviews. Perhaps each of you could pick out your favorite new app or game for the week and talk a little about it?

Anyway, this is the first podcast I’ve really listened to. I loath the term “podcast” so I think it’s kept me from exploring them before now, but I’m glad I’ve been tuning in. Keep up the good work!

  10. About the donate comment. There is nothing to stop developers adding a PayPal or similar donate button on there apps. Android has a WebView that can handle all that.

    Great show. Keep it up.

  11. Holy UMMMMMMMM. After all the comments I just listened to the podcast and WOW.

People complained about “I dunno” and “You Know” but wow I bothered myself terribly with all the Ummmm, Ummmm, UMMMMMM, UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

I’ll try to be a bit more conscious of my verbage folks. This is what happens when you’re skimming/reading stuff and trying to manage a conversation at the same time.

  12. I’m really enjoying these podcasts. Keep em up! =)

  13. Yes, guys, I will try my best to curb my speech with the “You Know”s. Much better than the first time, though, give me a little credit.
