The lucky Engadget travelers in Barcelona just got their mittens on the Xperia X10 Mini Pro – or at least stood next to an SE representative who gave them a quick guided tour.
The idea of the X10 Mini and X10 Mini pro is that they’re designed for people who prefer one-handed use of a phone. The smaller screen and redesigned UX platform are optimized for the more pocketable and more mini experience. It all looks pretty darn good.
Our only complaint? The annoying oompt-oompt-oompt music in the back-back-background.
the contacts look really cool in this demo. but when you really think about it, how many of your contacts at this moment actually have pictures paired with them? it’s gonna be a bunch of john and jane doe’s down that list.
Man, that’s so … cute!
While I’m not likely to get one for myself, I can see myself recommending it for people who are power-texters (sms) and who would definitely do better with physical keys. With this phone, they could extend their touch- typing beyond SMS to emails as well.
If you don’t do lots of web browsing or youtube/video viewing, but would like that functionality for once in a while, and you want access to a good range of apps, a good camera and music player, this phone is ideal.
I hope SE keep the cost reasonable.
now this is the best SE phone for a long time… it looks pretty, and brings the benefits of android to non power users…
i would recomend this to everyone looking for a phone not giving too much about big screens and applications…
well done SE
The UI seems a lot snappier than the x10 which is good news but the use of blue is becoming a little too much for my liking. Hopefully there will be a theme creator to calm the UI down.
Its a shame the keyboard doesn’t take advantage of the available space. I continue to be amazed by manufacturers who don’t make the most out of the features they include on these phones.
I want one! Hope it works with AT&T Bands, or even is subsidized by ATT, that’d be great. With the rumors of AT&T offering the x10 regular, maybe it’s not that far fetched an idea
but, considering how i dislike paying for data plans (over priced on ATT), i may try and get one unlocked and just use it as a MID over wifi and a messaging/multimedia phone
I was looking for the X10 lights out app…
