Multiple sources (read: MobileCrunch & BGR) are claiming that Verizon Wireless will launch a Buy One Get One (BOGO) promotion today that will include both the Motorola Droid and HTC Droid Eris. The Palm Pre Plus, Palm Pixi Plus, LG Chocolate Touch, Samsung Alias 2 and any WinMo phone of equal or lesser value. Supposedly you can mix and match any of the above.
You’ll need to sign a 2-year contract to get these deals, of course, but if you’re in the market for this it’s a great deal. I’m waiting for their GOGO promotion on Windows Mobiles devices… you know… Get One Get One and just give away the whole lot of ’em. Although I will admit, Windows Mobile 7 looks to be a vast improvement on the comedy show they’re running now.
This is rumored to start TODAY so we’ll keep you up to date and let you know if it surfaces as truth or fiction.
This has already been goin on
I think they’re talking about mixing and matching the BOGO deals. Example: Buy a Moto DROID and get a Pre Plus Free, albeit more than likely after mail-in rebate.
I hope they are clearing the way for something of Nexus One equivalent, the disappointing news of the HTC Desire(Bravo) going to Vodafone has my March upgrade hopes of a top-a-da-line android device waning
Yesterday my wife and I went to upgrade to the Moto Droid from Blackberry 8830’s. You were able to buy one moto droid and get the eris free but you couldn’t get buy one get one for two moto droids. But today is another day and this article is true. We ordered two moto droids buy one get one with a two year agreement.
My wife & I are already on Verizon’s family plan, I have the Omnia with the data plan, she’s on the Chocolate withOUT the data plan. We’re due for the new every 2, I’ve been holding out for the Nexus One, but with this deal, I’m very tempted to upgrade both our phones to the Droid for $149 ($199 BOGO minus $50 NE2 credit)… is it worth it or hold out for the N1?
I don’t mean to hate, but man…I hate when these deals come up 2 months after I joined Verizon.
It woulda been nice to have a “free” back-up phone if my DROID ever decides it needs to be replaced due to some kinda error.
ICON- you wouldn’t be able to get a “backup” phone anyway, the ‘free’ phone MUST be attached to a working Verizon number.
Does this work if only one phone (my wife’s) is up and one (mine) is not? I.e. Can I upgrade both and get BOGO with only one due for upgrade? Thanks
Johnson…wrong..you need a multi line plan..yes..but you can get the buy one get one free moto droid..have 1 hooked up to your line..the 2nd hooked up to another line..then you can change the 2nd line back to its old phone..and put the extra droid in a box for later. it’s all part of verizons 30 day to change ur service agreement.
so can i get the buy 1 get 1 free plan on a new service plan?
I just went to order the droid and it wouldn’t allow me to get two droids. I even did a chat with support and she said it is not a buy one get one free but instead a buy one get 3 select phones free
