The most vigorous Android adopters on the manufacturing side have been HTC, Motorola and now Samsung. Sony Ericsson tried to get onboard awhile back but seem to be paddling themselves in circles, while LG has only released/announced a couple Android phones (LG Eve, LG Swift) – all on the lower end side of things. The rumored LG Aloha seeks to break that trend.
A recent User Agent Profile combined with a Wi-Fi certificate for the LG C710 (PDF) give us more than enough evidence to think the LG Aloha is for real. That isn’t necessarily saying it will come to fruition, but if it does, it could include:
- 800×480 pixel touchscreen
- 65,000 color display
- WiFi 802.11b/g/n
- GPRS, UMTS, HSDPA and HSUPA
The kicker here is that while all the high-end Androids rolling out after the Motorola Droid are full touchscreen (Desire, EVO 4G, Galaxy S, Incredible, Nexus One, Xperia X10) the LG Aloha is rumored to have a full QWERTY keyboard. Personally, we would welcome LG into the realm of higher-end Androids, and hopefully that full QWERTY is remniscient of the LG Voyager. Yes, please.

It is hard to take LG seriously, when they have yet to publicly make any suggestions or hints around whether or not their existing Eve product will be receiving an Android 2.1 update in the near future.
Introducing new phones is great, but leaving existing customers in the dust is not a good move either.
that android knows where it’s at
One operating system to rule them all :D
Agreed. Bring on 2.1 for LG Eve :)
LG and Samsung have better phones in eastern Asia. It’s pretty easy to get frustrated when comparing the high tech phones in Korea, Japan, and China with the baby phones offered in the US. Although the two companies may not be considered that much of hot shots here in the states, unbeknown to many are their advanced models on the other side of the globe.
I know that if LG tried, it could burn the competition but its best interests are obviously elsewhere.
Finally! Wireless N is here on smartphones. It is kinda sad though that the first 10 smartphones that will be coming out with “N” are all LG(4) and Samsung(6). Hopefully they will all run Android too.
I hope it’s for verizon! and i loved my voyagers keyboard, i’m kinda sad i traded it for the versa
