SK Telecom be damned: they’re expecting some pretty nice phones coming up. Today, Pantech announced that they’d be releasing their first Android phone – the Sirius IM-A600S – later this month. Those of you with SK Telecom can expect to throw down 900,000 won ($810) but that doesn’t come without some justifiable specs.
Pantech decided not to skimp on their first offering as it’ll come with a swift 1ghz Snapdragon processor, a 5 megapixel camera, 500 megs of internal memory and an 8 gig microSD card. You’ll also be happy to know that it’ll be running Android 2.1 which should look nicely on the device’s 3.7inch WVGA AMOLED display.
There’s some more good news: this phone might not just be exclusive to SK Telecom (or all of South Korea, for that matter). Pantech is reportedly in talks with Verizon and AT&T to bring their handsets to the states, and while nothing has been said on whether or not the Sirius IM-A600S would be their first phone over here, we definitely wouldn’t mind it one bit.
