Those activating a new HTC Desire on T-Mobile UK will be treated to a special offer from VOD company Saffron Digital allowing them streaming access to two free Warner Brothers’ titles from a selection of eight including Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and The Hangover. The VOD+ service from Saffron is just getting its legs and this offer on one of the hottest Android handsets in the UK is sure to get it some business.
The offer for two free titles will be good for the first month, but after that new titles will cost 3.49 GBP while older titles will be available for the bargain price of 2.49 GBP. A key feature of VOD+ is the ability to pause a movie on your mobile device and pick it up where you left off on your PC.
Is video-on-demand one of the next big things for cell phones? It looks like more and more handsets will be featuring TV outs, including some with HDMI connections, and more and more streaming companies such as Netflix are looking into the mobile market. Will the cell phone eventually replace the set-top box as a portable media station you can take where ever you want? It seems plausible if you ask me.

I think the screen is a bit small for having paid streaming content on it.
