Today Google announced that it will be investing in the mobile payments startup Corduro. While not a great deal is known about the company that Google Ventures sees fit to throw money at, it looks like they are focused on providing small businesses with the tools necessary to accept credit card payments on the go through mobile devices. Some features of Corduro’s service include bill pay, recurring payments, and electronic checks.
The move is in no doubt to help increase the merchant-friendly nature of mobile devices, specifically Google’s own Android operating system and the phones that run it. Similar services are already available for the iPhone, and Google no doubt wants a piece of that action.
No firm plans or investment details were revealed, and you can learn more about Corduro at their website.

Sounds like a good idea.
A payment system like PayPal would be good for Android.
