By Something pretty cool is brewing up on the XDA scene. Forum user ‘pikipirs‘ has been working on his Wiimote compatibility (Wiimote Controller) app for quite some time, now, and he’s put the project in alpha status. What you get is a working bridge between your Nintendo Wii Remote (minus the nunchuck) and your phone (if it’s supported).
He demoed Donkey Kong Country running on a Google Nexus One. The setup seemed fairly straight forward, too, so it doesn’t look like you’ll need to do anything too weird to get this up and running. You can find the app in the market, but be sure to take a gander at the post on XDA to see if there are any issues with your device (after a quick skim, it looks like most Sense-enabled – and most HTC devices, for that matter – are not going to play nicely with it, right now).
Hopefully, compatibility and stability becomes a non-issue as the project goes through the rest of its Alpha stage, into beta, and finally with its first stable release. Be sure to search “Wiimote” on the market to see some other different apps available that provide this functionality, as well: choice has never been a bad thing. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to see if I can get this thing working with my Wiimote and a T-Mobile G1.

What Nintendo 64 emulator is he using?
Quick Question, so if i were to use a wii-remote for this can i connect the classic wii-controller that connects to the wii remote on the knob-chuck port and play DK the same way???
I thought you had to remove the battery cover to sinc WIImotes. Nope Just press 1&2!

cant figure out how to map the keys on my wiimote through the droid but i did pair the device with my phone
Does your phone have to be rooted for this stuff? Where do you get the emulator/games?

Now if someone could get the PS3 controller to work so some SNES games can be played that require more then just the 2 (A & B) buttons. =P

this is tight! this will make my decision to get the Evo 4G a much lighter one if I can play my emulators with a real controller! keep up the good work devs!!
works on my G1. not so great for snes, wiimote doesn’t have enough face buttons in the right locations to really be useful. better for rpgs and basic platformers if anything. using the classic controller would be perfect, if someone could get that working.

I have been trying to do this on my wifes Samsung Moment but it currently is not working. It is updated to android 2.1 but it is giving me error 1 in the wiimote control app and trying to pair it in the bluetooth controls on the phone they are asking for a PIN to pair it, tried 0000 and 1234 and tried putting nothing in but not working. looks like samsung decided I should be able to do this? would i be able to bypass this by rooting the phone?

just wondering if you have ever encounter this problem, on my x10 i connect to my wii mote fine, but it keeps disconnected after 10-15 seconds (the lights on the wii mote go off and i have tried a new set of batteries, same problem)
Tried to get wiimote to work on eris, but it asks for a pin. Just like above person, oooo and 1234 dont work. Any suggestions? At top of forum it says eris is compatible

The Wii Remote keep disconnecting from my X10 mini pro. After about 10 seconds, the Player1 light on the remote goes off and the phone loses contact with it. I’ve followed all instructions. What’s wrong?
Wow I am kind of behind the times what a year plus now? Either way Wii remote plus my Droid incredible plus tv out plus n64oid/snesoid wow just wow. It’s working great by the way at least for snesoid, I’m sure 64 will be running smooth in no time oot and majora here I come.
