Kyocera Zio Headed to Boost Mobile, Too?

11

Late March, we learned that the Kyocera Zio (aka the M6000) would be making its way to Cricket in July. While we have yet to see if that holds up to be true, another rumor is suggesting that the Zio could make its way to Boost Mobile, as well. A source of AndroidGuys‘ is the benefactor here, and they’re also saying it might be sold exclusively through Best Buy.

The last time we checked in – at least for Cricket Wireless – the phone would carry a Manufacturer’s Suggest Retail Price of $299.99, but AG’s source suggests that this could be available for anywhere between $169-$219 with a $50 unlimited plan (texts, voice, and data). No dates yet, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled for one, if this turns out to be true.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. This would be AWESOME if true. $50 for unlimited web!!!

  2. Yeah that $50 a month unlimited voice, text and data is great, until you realize how awfully slow the iDEN network is.

  3. That phone would run on Sprints CDMA network fool

  4. @dave Boost Mobile will be using CDMA for this phone, seeing as it does not have push to talk.

  5. I really hope Kyocera’s quality has improved since their KX16 (a.k.a. “Candid”) days…

  6. Thats a good price for the phone.

  7. IM WAITING TO SEE HOW ITS GOING TO WORK ON THE NEW CRICKET NATIONWIDE COVERAGE

  8. I hope Boost does this, and Dave everyone is right, this is a CDMA not iDEN phone. I liked the Motorola i1 till I saw it was on the iDEN network, I had a Motorola i855e Boost Mobile phone, I now have the BlackBerry from Boost & could not go back to the iDEN network.

  9. Is there any concrete info that this is coming to Boost? I have read alot about this phone but Cricket Wireless isnt offered in my area and like everyone else has said, the Motorola i1 is not the phone to get since it is on the iden network.

  10. I think it would be awesome if Boost Mobile got the blackberry torch phone which is through at&t since cricket has the sanyo zio m6000, therefore they won’t have the same phone. The mot i1 has a 5mp camera and ruggedness free from dust with a 3.1inch touchscreen and the zio is 3.5inch touch screen and 3.1 inch camera at approximately $100 cheaper that boost mot i1.

  11. I love the idea of this phone coming to boost I have the mot i1 its not worth it iden need not have smartphone its like oil & water I need a new droid for boost to come love droid hate iden
