After claims that the e-reader market was not big enough to justify developing their own, Acer seems to have at least been toying with the idea, as the folks at Engadget got to spend some hands-on time with the device courtesy of Qualcomm. Qualcomm, who themselves just unveiled their latest and greatest chipset for smartphones, says the device was designed by Acer to showcase the Qualcomm MSM7227 processor.
The demo unit was apparently a bit unpolished, and it very well may just be a proof of concept — a device that may never reach market. Still the size and styling of it make a pretty attractive package, and with Android running underneath, a good UI could make this a great option for those searching for a tablet-style device with a skimmed down user experience.
