Ever wake up on a Saturday morning expecting an exciting agenda throughout the day? Did you then realize that you really had nothing to do and stayed cooped up in the house as bored as you’ve ever been? Goby’s hoping to change that with the launch of their new application headed for the Android market.
At first glance, this sounds like your standard “what restaurants are around me?” app, but it’s aspiring to be so much more. They’re housing over 350 categories of activities and claims that – through the help of their users – they’ve found and cataloged everything that you can do in every city, town, and region in this country. That’s a pretty bold claim.
“Goby’s mobile apps empower users to find fun anytime, anywhere using their mobile devices,” said Watkins. “We launched Goby with the goal of helping people find new experiences and inspiring them to try new things. We’re also in the process of adding more features to all of our mobile apps to allow people to create, edit and share goby content. You can preview these new features on goby.com where users already have the ability to save, organize and share all the things to do they find across the site.”
I’ve taken a quick look at their site, and they pretty much have a crap-ton of things you can do. Wanting to go whale watching? They drill that deep with their specificity. This isn’t to say you’ll find everything within your area: some cities just don’t have what you’re looking for (don’t expect to go whale watching in Nevada), but it’s a pretty good starting point if you want to explore your area like you never have before. Full press details are just below.
