While other check-in services primarily help you keep track of where you’ve been, helps your friends know what you’ve been up to, and helps stalkers do their daily duty, Miso is different: it allows you to “check-in” to a TV show. Basically, you’re updating all of your friends on what you’re watching at any given time. You get points and earn badges – just like other check-in services – and it looks like it can act as a great conversation starter when you’re with your friends and you notice they watched the latest episode of True Blood this week.
Miso is now available in the Android market.
Ahhhhh, enough with the “let me tell the entire world what I’m doing every second of my day”, I think one of these days people are going to rebel and want their privacy back. Now I do use some, like Facebook and Loopt, but I am VERY careful what I post, and what information I put out.
This is completely the reverse of Foursquare. This encourages you to sit at home, watch TV and get fat.
I like apps like miso. The best thing about twitter WAS that you had conversations. Especially during key viewing events, oscars, super bowl, presidential debates. That is what apps like miso and getglue are trying to capitalize on. Since I brought it up I prefer getglue. They are working on a beta for android and I use it! (hint: you can get the beta too!)
Agree with both posts above!
The world is getting pretty stupid now. If I can’t escape web 2.0 I might just let my DSL lapse and forget about the internet.
This could be a great supplement to the traditional Nielson ratings to determine a television show’s popularity. Maybe if this were around a couple years ago stuff like Firefly wouldn’t have been canceled.
A horrible idea that will likely be used by many. I don’t care what anyone else is watching, and I hope no one would care what I’m watching.
