Radio Shack has gotten pretty bold in the deals they cut to make sure you buy your latest handset at one of their stores over other retailers, and the trend continues with the T-Mobile G2. The Shack will be offering TMo’s first HSPA+ smartphone for $149.99 on a new two-year contract, a whole $50 off of what the phone retails for in other outlets. You won’t even have to mail away to get any of your rebates as they will be applied instantly upon purchase. A pretty tempting price for those who want to get their hands on the G2 or maybe even enough money knocked off to sway some on-the-fence buyers?

AWESOME. Too bad I’m not eligible for that price or I’d be alllll over it
We need this in Europe :/
Mmmm that is tempting. Specially since im eligable. But would it be cheaper to buy this at $149.99 and pay the more expensive contract price every month? Or would it be cheaper to buy phone at full price to then get the cheaper monthly payments? Ill do the math right now, but im what one would call “stupid” so some confirmation would be awesome lmao! Dont know if there is some catch or what not.
These companies are dumb. I don’t care what the price is, I just want the phone as soon as I can get it. I would be much happier if Radio Shack would announce that their price is $600, but they will promise you will have it first.
@Tyler:
Yes, of course price doesn’t matter. Companies are dumb to think we care about price! Why should we care about price? I will gladly pay $135135334235623634343 for this phone. Nice trolling, sorry I had to take the bait.
Any idea as to the projected release date for the G2?
I don’t even know where a Radio Shack is. I didn’t even know they were still in business.
@BrownsBacker
Most signs point October 6th – 10th if you don’t preorder directly through T-Mobile.
I don’t care who gets it first, though. I just want it from whoever has it the cheapest, lol.
Does anyone know if Radio Shack or T-Mobile offer 1 year contract pricing? I’m currently using a Nexus One on T-Mobile contract free and don’t really want to add more than a year if possible.
@Foxeh
Have you heard of a date regarding the pre-order availability?
Just curious
@U Know
Best Buy Mobile (mall store) is taking preorders now, but they don’t guarantee launch day availability. T-Mobile themselves haven’t said when they are taking preorders directly other than within the month. I heard that it’s possible that T-Mo preorders for existing customers may be as early as this week, but I’m taking that with a grain of salt.
Wish I could get an Epic for that….
@Foxeh
Thanks…Much appreciated
RELEASE DATE IS OFFICIAL OCTOBER 6TH!!!
