I’m not surprised be hearing about yet another tablet today. Taiwanese mobile carrier Vibo Telecom will apparently be offering an own-branded tablet with a 7-inch display running Android 2.2, according to DigiTimes. It’ll be NT$10,000 – about $313 for those of us here in Yankee country – but will be subsidized for free with a contract (no details on the terms of agreement have been disclosed.
It should be landing this November. They’ll be using this tablet and another (Android-ness unspecified) to test the waters, so to speak. My guess is that they want to see if it’ll be worth carrying a powerhouse such as the Galaxy Tab as there currently is no known market for today’s tablet in that part of the world.
