You wouldn’t be alone in thinking that ZTE – of all manufacturers – would be the last to make their way to the market with an Android tablet, but that’s exactly what the ZTE V9 is. This 7-inch offering looks to sport Android 2.1 that is slightly customized for the big screen, a 3G radio, and WiFi. There also exists a 3-megapixel camera on the back and one up front – likely for video calling.
ZTE’s been known in the phone market for making the hardware and giving it to carriers and other OEMs to apply their own branding. It’s not clear if they’ll be doing the same with this tablet, but it doesn’t look too bad as it stands and could attract a lot of attention from the folks who want to offer something more affordable than Samsung’s Galaxy Tab. We have no other specs to mull over at this time – and the only region we can confidently mention is Beijing – but take a look at these images below, courtesy of Chinitech.
The ever, expanding tablet market…
well if its as good as the ZTE Blade/Orange san fransisco i’ll be getting one!
Expanding market? I’ve seen lots of tablets being shown off, but are any actually shipping? I’ll believe it when I see it. I’m yet to see any that are available, let alone seeing anyone using a tablet other than an iPad.
