We know a few of you have gotten your hands on the Droid 2 Global already, and one of you have adapted current root and bootstrap methods to the device to make it as open as Motorola will allow you. It’s not surprising that methods for the original Droid 2 work for the Global edition considering they’re almost literally the same phones, but don’t go trying your favorite method without doing a little research.
This manual method is said to be working, but using SuperOneClick brings some nasty freezing issues. We haven’t heard anything about Universal Androot yet, though. Who’s going to be the ballsy user to try that one out? Anyway, if you want a no frills method, then just follow this one. Then bootstrap it just as you would on a Droid 2 or Droid X using Koushik’s Bootstrap app.

I wonder if this phone will be released in Europe. If not will it be worth to import it?
yeh i second that, but if it was imported to europe would it work on european networks?
This is a GSM/CDMA multiple networks version of Droid 2. It’s called Global for a reason. So yes.
