You’ve probably already noticed that it’s numbers time – they’re not always fun. But for this round of end-of-year reports, we’ve been treated to information regarding new devices, release dates, and a lot more straight from the horses’ mouths.
Qualcomm is the latest to post theirs. The skinny? They earned $3.35 billion to go up 25% since fiscal Q1 2010. More than a third of that is profit at $1.17 billion. Their performance is undoubtedly driven by partners such as HTC and Sony Ericsson who are among the smartphone industry’s top manufacturers and use Qualcomm processors in all of their products.
They expect 2011 to be even greater as they anticipate over 150 new Snapdragon-based dev, with 60 of those carrying the dual-core 1.2GHz MSM8660. And more than that, they claim more than 20 of those devices will be tablets – we know HTC in particular has something up their sleeve. Check out their official Q1 release for the full details. (.PDF)
