So a few days ago the LG Optimus 2X appeared on my doorstep (apologies for the sniffles!):
Let me just tell you that so far I’m LOVING the phone. It’s the first Android Phone with a dual-core processor and the performance reflects this fact. The phone I’m using is for international use, but I’ve stuck a T-Mobile SIM Card in there and am having my way with it as if it were my everyday phone.
I don’t want to give away too much, but you can plan on reading a full review on Monday. The hardware is fantastic, there are some very interesting software inclusions and options, and I think you’ll be interested to check out all our videos, thoughts, and opinions once we can piece together a solid review.
Stay tuned!
ONE hand??? Seriously?
Front look amazing, but Im not a fan of the back
did he get that phone for free from lg o_O
Hey I thought it was pretty good for one hand. I was eager to get it open and didn’t have my camera gear with me… I even took this with a DSLR I happened to have with me.
WANT
Can you give a good detailed look of the UI? On the surface it looks a lot like Touchwiz, and there is even some (most likely false) speculation that LG licensed it from Samsung.
Please mention the battery life in the upcoming review, thanks. And well done for one hand.
Sweet! But get a tripod :L I can’t wait for the full review!
I love the statusbar icons on this bad boy..Stold them all for my EVO :)
@Rob
Will this device really take advantage of the dual core processor? I recall that Froyo doesn’t have dual core support.
“myspace for LG haha thats funny” ohh poor myspace
i have been drooling over that phone since it was announced. i really hope it comes to T-Mo US. i’ll jump from Sprint for it!
You rock Rob. I assume this will be included in one of the future giveaways? Maybe? Pretty please?
yeaaaaaa!!! review it :)
Cant wait for the full review,It’s going to be a long weekend waiting. I hope you cold clears up by then too. :-)
can you give any details as to what carrier this phone will land on? any chance this beast will come to verizon?
@notoriouslyabsent
Boy you Verizon people are greedy. You are getting some real awesome phones, let us T-Mobile customers enjoy a 4.3″ screen phone for a change.
Focus.
FOCUS!!!
@wolverineguy55 we have one coming at the end of Q2. a 4.3inch dual core beast. made by htc.. wait you might know this already i’m sure but if not just search a couple of articles back. anyway great job Rob
Why is their UI look like TouchWiz?
When is the end of q2
I am liking this phone. The UI especially. Looks like a combo of Sense UI and Touchwiz.
Please do a speed test with tmobile hspa+ network
Solid little article Rob. Can’t wait tobsee how this one pans out!!
GAHHH I don;t know if i want this bamf phone or wait out for the htc pyramid!!! damn you TMo this was the last thing i wanted to happen!
As well rob, excuse my comments to a man named Richard. I’ve been lurking at this place way before it got huge! You guys have done a great job. And again sorry about being on Richards shit all the time. If he doesn’t quit trolling with pre pubescent comments, I’m going to kick his front door in and take his EVO lol
Possibly the WORST unboxing video EVER.
With android phones you can make a call and be one the internet at the same time as long as wifi is on
Great unboxing & article. Thank you. Looking forward to the review.
Feeling sorry for you with the cold.
Seriously, this was one of the least enjoyable unboxings I’ve had to endure recently. I would have expected more. A $20 tripod would have saved us all a lot of heartache. The content was fine, the review was fine but really, this is not a standard I’ve come to expect from Phandroid.com.
I’ve been looking forward to this phone (I guess I still am) but from the h/w stand point I can’t find the info on RAM anywhere…
Care to help me out here??
Also it would be great to compare this with Atrix which I know has 1GB RAM…
Please, would somebody be kind enough to tell does this awesomeness have native skype installed..?
..Of course i meant Swype, not Skype. My bad.
Lucky lucky, enjoy. Looks like TMO may finally have a 4.3″ phone, yeah!!
