April 28th had long been in our minds as the day we would see the HTC Droid Incredible 2 hit Verizon’s shelves, and with the date only a few days away Verizon has finally hit us with the official announcement. The Droid Incredible 2 will cost the expected $199.99 on-contract when it arrives in stores this Thursday. This is more or less the phone known as the Incredible S in other parts of the world, featuring a 4-inch Super LCD display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and dual cameras. It isn’t a 4G device (that’s the Droid Charge, launching the same day), but it does take advantage of its 3G prowess with mobile hotspot capabilities. The full press release is below.

Better processor.
Better & bigger screen.
More storage.
More RAM.

If it had Dual Core, I’d be first in line. I want a new phone but I don’t want to wait another 2 years behind the curve.
yeah, different…but not different enough. With some great phones not far out on the horizon, settling for the Inc.2 when you already have a DInc. doesn’t seem worth being tied to it for another year+. The original Incredible is a very capable phone that can hold up until a phone comes around that’ll just blow em all away.
I’m pretty sure the Inc 2 isn’t meant to be an upgrade for Incredible owners just like how the Desire S wasn’t an upgrade for Desire owners.
They’re good, solid phones for people hopping onto the Android bandwagon.
doesn’t it have newer sense also than current Inc’s? Also it will see Gingerbread before the Inc1’s too i bet.
how about it doesnt have the right upgrades to get over your old Incredible since there are upgrades just ones that are not enough it is really a budget android compared to others coming out yet you are paying a premium price.

Not due for an upgrade till December since i got the Inc1 @ launch… Anyone know any tricks how i can get VZW to let me upgrade to this on the 28th rather then wait and not pay full price?
add a line and put a junk phone on your current line…switch phones so you have same number. adding a line, you will only pay $12 extra a month.
$12 a month for two years is close to $300. Might as well buy the phone off contract.
You may have to sell, or trade it in… At least it will knock some dough off of it.

How much will it cost flat out? I just bought a Droid X because i couldn’t stand the iPhone, but now i want this – i’m still in my 15 day window – if anyone know please respond.
There was/is an Amazon pre-order screen, where I thought I saw $500.

The next generation? it looks like, by the specs, that it is the same generation. I have the original Droid Inc and it has all those specs, except for the 4″ screen. So the singular reason for upgrading to this would be the bigger screen? Might as well just go with the Thunderbolt and get 4G while your at it.
This is a very solid refreash, but next gen? C’mon Verizon.
The Droid Incredible 2 is by no means a bad phone by the looks, however its missing some key features that I would like to see.
