Last week at Google I/O, several lucky souls walked away from an LG-thrown event with one of their most innovative phones to date – the Optimus 3D. We didn’t get in on it ourselves, but some of those who did didn’t care to keep the device and are instead selling several of their units on eBay.
The lowest bid we can find starts at $515, while other listings are going as high as $750. (One guy has a Buy It Now listing for $900 if you don’t care to deal with a bidding war.) We’re still not sure when this thing will be launched, but if you’d rather not wait for LG to release it then you should try your hand here. [Thanks Mike!]
Those ungrateful rats… O_O
Indeed…..
Agreed.
no thanx
interesting.. i’ll still take the sgs2 ^_^
I was there and didn’t get one. Terrible luck.
Yah.. I was there too though not early and Ms LG girl didn’t pick me.. :: sigh :: This really bums me out to see as I’d like to get my hands on one since it requires custom code to do full 3D rendering at the software level. IE developers need to create a custom code path to do it just for this device. What I’d like to do is incorporate that custom code into my middleware that can load full 3D support just for this device and it will work out of the box without requiring devs to custom code anything. I actually live 10 min from Moscone and have been exceedingly unlucky not getting an I/O ticket every year for one reason or another. I’ve spent a ton on devices and recently bought out of pocket the LG G-Slate and G2X. So dropping out of pocket / no-contract for the Optimus 3D is just beyond my comfort zone as that would pop my current device expendentures in the last month to over $2k. Boo… I’m in bootstrap mode too right now. I tell you supporting Android and it’s various OS / device differentiation matters is very costly.
I however made sure to make proper use of the open bar after the main show; thanks LG!.. ;P
Anyone know if this will work on Tmobile 3G/4G/HSPA+ or will it just run on EDGE :(?
