New light is being shed on Samsung’s release strategy for their new Galaxy Tab slates in Europe thanks to a listing on Amazon.de. While a launch date is still missing, the Galaxy Tab 8.9 is shown with a price of €606.50. That translates to a little over $850 US. Listed alongside the 8.9 but without a price is the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Pricing seems a bit steep, especially given what the tablets will go for on US soil. The 10.1 will be priced at $499 for the 16GB version. Given that the States will see the new tablets on June 8th, it is looking likely the rest of the world should get them around the same date.

Couple of things to note before complaining about the price.
1 – It’s the 3g version
2 – The price includes 19% sales tax
3 – Never do direct Dollar comparisons. Prices are always more expensive in Europe. As a comparison the 3g 16gb iPad is 599 euros.
prices are mostly the same in Dollar 600€ –> 600$
excluding tax.

It looks like the 10.1 and 8.9 are the same price. Selecting the 10 doesn’t change price.
Agree with Mattj78, the price will probably be what Samsung said it would for the wifi edition at $449 here in the states.
Just release the darn things already!!
