Another great night here at Phandroid! For all the news we couldn’t squeeze onto our front page we have the world famous, Android Overload. Looks like we have a lot of activity from the UK this evening. Oh and another interesting article about how iOS and Android are almost tied when it comes to ad revenue (despite Android having the market share). Strange. Well, have a good night, everyone!
- WT19i new Android powered SE Walkman is leaked. May see a UK release? [XperiaBlog]
- Ad network revenue shows iOS and Android almost in a dead heat. [TUAW]
- Google Voice receives update in the Android Market. Fixes battery drain issues.
- Motorola Droid Pro available this July in the UK [UnwiredView]
- The Samsung Galaxy S (its cartoon likeness, at least) will be making the rounds at next years London Olympics. [EuroDroid]
- The Android 2.2 update for the Motorola Defy is now live in the UK.
- The Samsung Dart is now available at T-Mobile, free on contract.
That is good news for the people
interested in the Motorola Pro. In US, it was described as the perfect
alternative for blackberry and thus the users who have raved about the BB
device will definately appreciate the features of Motorola Pro. However, though
the Pro news is given by the well known online retailer of the UK that the
launch is in JULY, we have to wait and watch to witness the reality or rumor.
Chris Chavez: The only reason I still come to phandroid. (and may quentyn)
iOS still has a lot more apps/games for it, simply because it’s a LOT easier to develop for a single device/OS than the hundreds of different devices and specific OS’s that run Android. I love my Android phone, and if you have the time/budget to make an app for Android you do have a much larger audience, but right now iOS is still just so much easier and cheaper to develop for.
