The boys over at Brief Mobile got their hands on an early build of the Gingerbread OTA for the Motorola Atrix and it looks like we’re a few steps closer to that rumored July OTA. AT&T and Motorola have been testing a new build for the Android 2.3.3 update (4.5.47) on the Atrix and word on the street is that almost all of the bugs have been ironed out since the last build.
The new update will finally bring Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread to Atrix users and feature a new version of Motoblur UI – this time with a fancy looking iOS looking dock at the bottom and overall more smooth UI. Also expected in the update is the sideloading of apps via AT&T’s recent change of heart on their policy.
I still think it’s funny how the Android 2.3.3 update just manages to fall short of the latest version of Android 2.3.4. I think it may have a little something to do with native video chat featured in Google Talk but that’s another topic for another time.
Any Motorola Atrix users out there excited to finally get their hands on this Gingerbread update? How are you guys liking the phone so far?
