Earlier today, Spotify opened up their service to everyone in the United States. An Android application is available for those who opted for the $10 unlimited service. However, in related news, Spotify is also available for Sonos users. You can access your account on your Sonos player and control the music throughout your house with their Sonos Remote application for Android. I know a lot of folks are waiting on more streaming music services to make their way to Sonos. Will the addition of Spotify sweeten the pot for you investing in a Sonos setup? IMO, Sonos Boxes are way too expensive. At this point you’re better off buying an Android tablet and hooking it up to speakers and DLNA.
All it takes is one Android tablet with the right ports. (Can i get some SPDIF?)
Spotify has been available on Sonos for months. This is very old news.
Dude, you get what you pay for. Sonos is an excellent system. It’s pricey, but not many who actually have it consider it poor value for money. In fact most people end up buying more kit.
You really can’t compare the hacked-up system you describe with Sonos.
