Waiting on ASUS to deliver the sliding-capable tablet/netbook hybrid instead of buying the Transformer with its detachable keyboard? You’ll be happy to know that the device has just hit the FCC. After being delayed until this quarter when it was expected to launch around the same time the transformer did, we’re happy to see that things are now coming along smoothly. It shouldn’t be too long before this one makes its way to market but we’ll wait until ASUS mentions official word on its arrival. [Wireless Goodness]
If that keyboard’s nice and it doesn’t weigh a ton, this is my next device.
any idea what the difference is between the units?
I love my transformer and doc… I hope ASUS keeps putting out good Android Product.
I seriously hope this is a good product. I haven’t pulled the trigger on the Transformer yet, but this one may sway me. Go Asus!
The slide out keyboard is the only difference. This was to be my tablet, but the fact that Asus took so long to get this going, I bought a Transformer. I’m happy with it and will wait for Tegra3 instead
I hope that angle is more adjustable. The screen is too slanted.
I honestly do not understand why they came out with the slider with the transformer already out. I have a transformer with the add on keyboard and I love it. It is the best of both worlds. With the slider, you always have the extra bulk and weight of the keyboard no matter what. I am sure it will be cheaper than the transformer + keyboard, but other than that, no other real benefits.
No, no cheaper. More expensive. When they announced pricing back in February they stated the transformer was to be cheaper by a $100 to $150 compare to the slider.
