The PDF hitting Verizon’s support page last night was a good sign for owners of the Motorola Droid X2. The very Gingerbread update detailed therein is now live and headed out to handsets, bringing the dual-core X2 up to speed with its single-core predecessor in terms of software build. The update brings everything you’d expect from Android 2.3 in addition to a revamped MotoBlur interface.
The sizable 101MB update file is headed out over-the-air to the X2 now, but you can try the old System Updates trick under the Settings menu if you want to pull the file early.
Proof? Who’s gotten it, or are you just making this up? Also, the “System Update Trick” does nothing. It just checks for the downloaded file that you’ve already been notified about..
