Late last week, it was revealed that the Logitech Revue’ MSRP would be reduced to $99 to help drive the adoption of Google TV. We didn’t get an indication of when the price drop would happen, but thankfully it was sooner rather than later. As of right now (it happened yesterday, actually) the Logitech Revue is $99. You’re getting the first ever Google TV device that Logitech has committed to bringing Android Honeycomb to once the upgrade is available. For the price, it’s going to be one hot commodity in the face of overpriced internet TVs and newer, presumably more expensive units from Logitech and other OEMs. If you want yours now, head to Logitech to purchase it for just $100.

I’m diving in again. Bought one a while back and returned it. That was at full original price. For 99, and the new update arriving soon…..I’m taking a chance. Despite the crappy built-in media player that has a hard time streaming anything.
I would love to get one of these; but, I have noticed a lot of games coming out recently require a pretty large CPU and I am not sure if the Revue will be able to handle them. I think what will really make me want to buy a Google TV box will be an official “Google Games” announcement with some beefy hardware spec running Ice Cream OS. There have been hints of Google Games with Google+ integration for a universal friends list. If that happens with the next wave of Google TV boxes, I will be picking one up.
Still though, this is a great deal for anyone looking for an easy way to stream Netflix, Amazon video, Picasa, etc. Especially once the OS is updated to Honeycomb (probably in the near future). Once it is updated, you will be able to stream from Google Music and Google Video service.
I am ready to buy a Gtv box now, but I worry about how smooth Android 3.x will run on the old hardware. I would venture a guess that Google’s developers are working on optimization for this exact reason, which is why this update is coming so late Regardless, without having any user reviews about the smoothness and stability, I have a hard time shelling out any amount of money. Google needs to release a developer version and some specs already, so we know the Revue won’t be OOA – obsolete on arrival.

can i use this without having to plus my directv box into it? my dtv box doesn’t have an hd in or out plus… i really just want to use the internet options that come with it
Yes, you can use the Revue without a STB. I ran it that way for a long time. The only thing you can’t do are the obvious things that would require a HDMI source (Dual View, Guide, DVR etc.).
I actually jumped on this and picked one up yesterday. I really can’t wait to see what the upcoming update brings. So far it has been nice. Setup was really easy. As far as picture quality, we stream lots of Netflix shows on our computers, the “real life” shows look really good. But kids shows like Super Why, look a little pixelated. But, I have a really old wireless router, (D-Link from ’07), so I’m going to upgrade the router before I start speaking bad about the device.
Does it do hulu plus or netflix?
