Firefox 6 for Android Brings Awesome Screen, Developer APIs

Updates – you’ve gotta love them. I love them even more when they’re significant experience-changing updates. That’s why I got a bit excited this morning when I heard Firefox for Android (release) has gotten updated with the latest that the Mozilla team have been working on.

You’re getting a brand new look and features, the biggest of which for users being the “Awesome” screen which is sort of a mobile speed dial for the content you often browse.

For developers, you’ll get access to the “single touch events” API that’ll allow your users to interact with webpages as if it were an app. Swiping through photos, panning around a map and more are possible with the API. Considering I miss this sort of stuff from my desktop browsing experience, I welcome it with open arms. Find it in the Android market.
