KT (Korean Telecom) introduced a rather versatile Android powered device at IFA this year. The KT Spiderpad (really?) features a 4.5-inch display, 1.5Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and micro HDMI port. Pretty standard high-end Android device, right? But that’s not all.
Borrowing off of Motorola’s idea of offering a webtop docking station, the KT Spiderpad also provides the versatility of docking your phone (as seen in the picture above) into a netbook dock, giving you all the benefits that come with having a full physical keyboard and functional mouse at your fingertips. I’m sure you’ve heard of the saying, “All work and no play,” well — to prevent you from becoming a “dull boy,” KT will also make available a gamepad dock, giving you to ability to get down and dirty with the ever growing number of game titles in the Android Market. What else are you going to use all those cores for anyway? Also shown was a tablet dock (not pictured), which is always a nice option for those who need a little more screen real-estate than the device’s 4.5-inch screen. There was no word on pricing or availability outside of a general fall release date but if you would like to see more, check out these videos.

now if only we could get something like that here. Or if moto would step up and match the peripherals for the bionicatrix style of devices!
I can see Moto matching the tablet dock. Dont know about the gaming one.
Their laptop dock shoulda been like this.
Now that is a product worth having here in the US. Or just the smart phone with a tablet dock. Maybe when we see the Ice Cream Sandwich OS a product like that will be introduced.
This stuff will take off. I for one could see owning all 3 of those.
The only problem is that U.S. Carriers will charge a crazy tethering fee to use it like att does with the atrix dock.
There is a rumor that the Bionic wont have a tethering fee on Verizon for the laptop dock.
Imagine this possibility.
Some OEM makes a nifty new phone that docks to a netbook and/or gaming controller. They keep the latter two items completely secret.
They get their phone on the market on one or more major carriers. You can get the phone and a data plan.
Suddenly, without the mobile operator’s knowledge, the OEM (or maybe some “third party”) comes to market with the dockable netbook and/or gaming controller.
I would love to see how AT&T could argue that you suddenly need to pay for tethering to plug your phone into a third party folding device that looks like a netbook. After all, you’re paying for 2 GB of data, and using only 2 GB of data. Why is it any of AT&T’s business whether you are using an accessory with your phone? The phone is just as powerful as it was — same processor, memory, etc. The accessory merely made the phone more convenient to use as a web browser, or to run other apps that DON’T use any data.
Just four words “Motorola. That is how it’s done”
That’s six words, and one of them is a contraction.

The real question is if there is a port for sexing with it, because I think it’s going to be hard not to own this and not rape it on a regular basis.
