FCC-Approved ZTE V55 Tablet Appears Headed for Sprint

Another new Sprint-bound device from ZTE has found its way to the halls of the FCC. This time it is the V55 tablet, an Android Honeycomb slate first shown off at CTIA last spring. The tablet features a 10.1-inch display, 1.2GHZ CPU, and will run on Sprint’s 3G network along with WiFi and Bluetooth support, according the FCC documentation. It seems unlikely that we will see a WiMAX radio, as the ZTE V55 will most likely be positioned as a budget alternative to more powerful slates. It was expected that the device would get an LTE radio, but with no current network supporting that technology the Sprint version will lack 4G data speeds. Details on release are unknown at this point.
