  1. This looks like a beast. Hopefully LG/AT&T doesn’t ruin it.

    1. 4GB of internal storage.

  2. If I knew the Nexus wasn’t coming to at&t I definitely pick this up.

    1. No LTE Galaxy Nexus will be coming to AT&T anytime soon. I live in Dallas so even if the non LTE nexus was coming to AT&T tomorrow I’d have a tough choice on my hands. Went to the AT&T store and tried out the LTE network. Youtube videos for example were loading twice as fast as they were on the Samsung Galaxy S II that was on display.

My main problem with this LG phone is all I hear about is slow updates and crappy support for LG devices.

Unfortunately all AT&T LTE phones for the next several months will carry 1.5 snappy’s.

  3. The CPU unfortunately isnt up to date, but this screen makes this Phone one of the best available Android Phones.

    1. Well, except its made by LG.

      1. LG also makes the iPhone’s retina display. Also, this display was awarded best screen tech over the Super AMOLED+ and HD display IIRC.

    2. Dual Core 1,5Ghz CPU is outdated?!

      1. Dual Core Cortex 8 is outdated.

  4. Yes!

  5. Is it strange that there is no OS information provided here? Wasn’t it rumored earlier that this phone would ship with ICS? I wonder if they are still working out the details (e.g., allowed to launch before Verizon’s Nexus), or maybe they are deliberately not telling us it won’t have ICS?

    1. No ICS. Nexus is the first and this is getting released before it. Expect 2.3.x

      1. Its hard to define “first” in this case. The nexus was supposed to launch a long time ago. Verizon is dragging their feet. Other manufactures can only be held back so long. Plus it is out in EU.

      2. The Nexus has already been released.. just not in the US.

    2. The Nitro is running Gingerbread 2.3.6 and the international version (Optimus LTE) has been confirmed for a ICS upgrade by LG.

  6. I don’t see myself ever buying another LG phone again in the foreseeable future. Got the G2x and if it wasn’t for the dev community that phone woulda been the biggest POS ever. Only thing LG has going for it right now is that smoking hott LG girl :)

  7. I’ve got an htc vivid that is going for a ride this week and won’t be coming home with me. I love the vivid but I also have an amaze 4g that I just bought so I’ll keep it and get the nitro. My wife is so going to want to kill me;-)

  8. Here is a better reason than it being LG to take this phone off your want list. I went to LG’s site for this phone and it claims “up to 3 hours” of battery talk time.
    http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/LG-P930.jsp

    1. Interesting point.
So it says 3 hrs talk time, 10 hours standby time. I wonder what other phones are getting for talk time.
I know If I had a 3 hour non stop conversation on my current phone it would be dead. (3gs).

      1. My Captivate is rated at 5 hour talk time and current highend AT&T phones are rated as follows for talktime:

        Moto Atrix 2:                 8.5 hrs
        HTC Vivid:                     7.6 hrs
        Samsung SkyRocket:    7 hrs
        iPhone 4S:                     8 hrs

The Nitro HD’s talktime rating of 3 hours sucks and there is no way I’ll buy a phone lower than the 5 hours my current Captivate is rated for.

      2. 10 days and 12 hours of standby time…but yeah, original point still stands that 3 hrs of talk time is ridiculous.

That’s especially true considering its 1830 mAH battery!!

I think we may have a typo on that spec sheet…just guessing.

  9. This actually looks like a really good alternative to the galaxy s II skyrocket. I ditched at&t to go to verizon to try to get the galaxy nexus. After my last phone purchased, i promised myself I would never buy another android phone unless it was stock android and i’m sticking by that.
