Skype for Android is seeing a sizable update in the Market with new features, UI and improved performance. With the latest update, you can send pictures, video and files using nothing but the app. I can’t even tell you how long I’ve been waiting for the Skype team to add this functionality into the app and I am currently downloading as I type.
Also new to this version is a new look thanks to improved graphical elements — we, in “the biz,” call this a UI (user interface) — as well as better performance on Tegra 2 devices as well as voicemail enhancements. On a little bit of a side note, Skype is also giving away free WiFi at airports across the US for the holidays. For a full list of participating airports, hit up the article on BGR here.

It absolutely sucks! It’s become useless for me since the update. The icon that showed it running in the background is now gone and it will log you out and disappear without you realizing.
This is not a test
Pass, Congratulations!
Can someone explain to me why everyone is making these test posts?

stupid times like this, we need a ‘dislike’ option…
Interesting that Microsoft would be doing this for Android OS when its late for the party with Windows 8. Microsoft owns Skype.

This was updated on the 13th, I think we all know about it by now ;) lol.
The 13th is the most recent version I’m seeing as well.
If this is the version the author is referring to, then it’s “Old News.”
It would be nice if these guys started including the build number and release date in their article so we would not waste time looking for an update we may already have.
Wonder if they’ve fixed constantly flipped / rotated / garbled images on a huge variety of different devices yet. I recently had to painfully advice a friend to buy an iPad instead of a Galaxy Tab due to the fact that Skype Video was a non-negotiable requirement she had, and there are many reports of issues with Skype on all sorts of Android tablets including the Tab she was looking at.
“Also new to this version is a new look thanks to improved graphical elements — we, in “the biz,” call this a UI (user interface)”
That’s GUI, not UI.
