The Mobile World Congress madness is taking off. While it is going to be the year of the quad-core processor, for Barcelona, there is also a plethora of dual-core goodness coming. An example is the Galaxy Tab 2 series, which have just been announced by Samsung.
The only noticeable upgrade from last year’s Galaxy Tab devices seems to be the fact that these come with Android 4.0. Aside from that, you will find pretty much the same deal in a different package. Specs include a 1 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 16/32 GB of internal storage (also an 8 GB version of the 7-inch tablet) a 3 MP rear-facing camera and a VGA front-facing camera.
The Galaxy Tab 2 tablets will come in WiFi-only and 3G versions, as well as 7-inch and 10.1-inch form-factors. You can pick your own preferences. The main difference between the two is that the battery for the 7-inch version is only a 4,000 mAh one, while the 10.1 device has a whopping 7,000 mAh battery.
We will have time to spend some hands-on time later on, so stay tuned to see how these tablets do. We should also be expecting that 10-inch Galaxy Note we have been seeing around.

“with last year’s specs” LOL
i think 2012 we will see a slowdown of bleeding edge tech….
it’s about time, cause all OEM’s were releasing stuff WAY too fast.
Especially Motorola with phones. a droid 3 and 4 months apart,
a droid X2, Bionic, Razr and Razr Maxx all within 12 months
You haven’t seen the Galaxy Note 10.1 yet..
Its a galaxy tab 10.1 with a S-pen.
I’m fine with my galaxy tab 10.1
Samsung has also announced that they are cancelling the 32GB GSM Galaxy Nexus. For those to whom it may concern…
I’d put up a link, but just copy-paste 32GB Samsung Galaxy Nexus Cancelled into Google, there are tons of them.
this is the 10.1 version of the galaxy tab 2 7inch that was announced.
Maybe they have a surplus of last years materials and are trying to milk them out. Otherwise I don’t get why a company would release the same product but slap a 2 on it
maybe because of apple’s lawsuit. don’t be surprise if the appearance is the same as the eur version tab n
what because of Apple’s lawsuit? Apple sued Sammy so they can never update the internals in their devices. That’s a moronic assumption. If you’re referring to the outside, they did have to change it, so I don’t see where your post is valid at all. Sorry.
Asus quad core 7″ Memo tablet will be the new standard when they get it released. Even the Kindle Fire will have to step it up.
i cant wait for that $250 tab will give all vendors a wake up call!
And now they’ll stop updating the Galaxy tab 10.1?
Maybe they’ve put shitty internals in a new package to see if apple sues? Because it’d be a waste to use top tier only to be ripped from the shelves. If all goes well, maybe they’ll update.
Samsung wants to loose its # 3 spot in tablet sales! to asus. lol.
I’m kind of disappointed with MWC this year
