If we thought the Nexus 7 was the only Nexus we’d see unveiled at Google I/O, we were dead wrong. Get a load of the Nexus Q, a futuristic orb of media streaming goodness. We’ll take a stab and say that it runs Android, but what else would you expect? Can’t wait to learn all about this thing in just a few minutes? Neither can I.
Update: The product page is live at the Google Play Store with all the details. The Nexus Q will retail for $299.99 and interfaces with movies and TV shows from the Play Store as well as YouTube among other things. It is looking like this will be more akin to the original Apple TV than it is to the current generation of Google TV. Check it out now.

I’d pay no more than $40 for this device. As long as it can stream all video formats via WIFI.
EDIT: https://play.google.com/store/devices/details?id=nexus_q&feature=corpus_selector
It’s $300! Fack no i will not pay $300 for this!
It looks a lot like the prototype device of I/O 2011
Looks like product video leaked too http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/27/nexus-q-images-leak/
If this this is considered an Android@Home device then so far my I/O gift picks are looking pretty good.
This is as disappointing as it gets. $300 for a devices that does LESS than a $99 vizio google tv streamer. I don’t even know what to think, just WTF. Oh, and you can buy a $400 pair of speakers to go with it! This completely sullies the nexus name.
Am I to understand this $300 device has far less functionality than a $100 Apple TV? Isn’t what this what everyone bashed Apple about?
that seems way overpriced…. I hope this does something crazy cool that we did not learn about till later.
We’re sorry…

Got the same thing. What’s up with that?
I wonder if it’s our ISP, I’m on Comcast. Either that or they pulled it.
GladDOS?
i would think this does something else besides video and audio streaming.. @300 bucks this has to do something more. Its impossible to think that they decided they need to make an apple TV competitior and priced it at 3 times what apple charges. I personally love my apple TV its worth 100 bucks , so there is a market for an android apple tv
I want this. I have so many folks in my house with music all over the place on their Android phones and we do have a pretty killer Boston Acoustics home theater system. This will eliminate installing and messing with DoubleTwist AirPlay on the game systems and someone’s MacBook plugged in that guy’s phone plugged in there, yanno?
Neat but not $300 neat. Unless it can be expanded to read media on the network, this is little more than just a toy for those who have a lot of disposable income. Now, if it intergrates with the popular media servers like XMBC,Plex or any of the future UPnP or DLNA servers. Seriously, I’m not gonna re-buy all the DVDs and other media I currently own just so I can play wiht this gizmo.
