LG and Verizon Wireless have been rather chummy when it comes to Big Red offering the other South Korean manufacturer’s handsets on their network. The duo is teaming up again, this time for the soon-to-be released LG VS930 — known in other parts of the world as the LG Optimus LTE.
The VS930 isn’t looking too shabby either, featuring all the top of the line specs we’ve come to know and love. The VS930 showcases a Qualcomm S4 processor, 4.7-inch “True HD IPS” display, global radios, NFC, and all running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. As for RAM, LG recently announced the LG Optimus LTE 2 for Korea with a very spacious 2GB of RAM. If LG wants to match the Galaxy S3 pound-for-pound, they know what they have to do.
The best part? You’ll notice LG also went with a controversial 4 capacitive button configuration along the bottom, slipping in the shunned menu button. While some will boo and hiss over LG’s blatant disregard for Google’s ICS design standards, I think it was a good call overall. Either way, the device looks sexy, will power through applications, and will no doubt catch the attention of all the soccer moms and Joe Schmoe’s out there.

Still not buying until:
– Quad core
– non pentile 720p display
– removable battery, stock battery being large (over 2200mah)
– 2Gb of ram
The LG VS930 has a non-pentile HD display, could have 2GB of RAM, has a removable battery (no word on capacity) but unfortunately…. no quad-core. So close.
I cant tell you how badly I want to get something new. I just don’t foresee a huge difference from my Atrix 4G right now. I realize the screen would be better… but that’s about it. IMHO, the S3 will be out dated in a year. That’s why I’m passing.
you’re never EVER going to get a phone that wont be outdone by something in 6 months, those days are over and you might as well deal with it. Keep waiting and you’ll just never have a phone.
I realize that. Its partially that every phone is exactly the same thing right now. Also I just have a feeling there’s gonna be a jump in performance in the next gen of phones.

The S4 is comparable to Tegra 3.
If they had drastically reduced the top and bottom black border (and gotten rid of the god-awful Verizon logo), it would look like what I would have imagined the Samsung Galaxy S3 was “supposed” to look like. Just look at the right and left sides; they look like the edges of Samsung’s beautifully sleek frameless LED television designs. That’s what I was hoping for in the SGS3.
Nice specs but if LG can’t update in a timely manner this phone will be garbage. As for cosmetics….. I’m not liking the corners of the phone.
I’m not one to get hung up on the cosmetics of a phone, but this thing looks ugly as hell!

Nah, the S3 isn’t ugly, just plain looking. This thing looks like you could stab someone with those corners.

The spectrum screen is horrible. Ips blows. Anything Samsung puts out is better.
The new lg screen has to be better than the spectrum screen or its a fail.
Sure if you like all your whites being tinted blue and none of your colors actually looking natural. Other than that LG’s displays are better.
This LG has a much better screen than the sgs3 and the rest of the specs seem pretty similar

Reasons it will fail.
1. It is an LG phone on Verizon
2. 1 Gig of RAM.
3. No Jelly Bean
4. Development for LG Verizon phones is mostly non-existent.
5. It is a rehashed spectrum with pointy corners and slightly better screen.
