By We’ve gotten more than a few reports to be confident enough to inform you folks that Google seems to be shipping the Nexus 7 tablet starting this ween and early next week. Some users are getting confirmation that their orders will ship either today, tomorrow, or July 16th, the first business day after the weekend.
Most reports we’ve gotten say standard 2-day shipping is in order so things should arrive no later than the middle of next week for most. This would tie-in perfectly with Google’s initial mid-July launch window, though there was reason to believe that devices wouldn’t begin shipping until July 19th.
Perhaps that date was for orders not yet placed as of the time of that posting. Either way, some users will find nice hardware at their doorsteps starting next week. [Thanks to everyone who sent this in!]

Haha, I’ve been following that one for a while. It really does suck that stores are getting them already and they haven’t shipped them to pre-orders yet. It must be taken into account that they told stores to hold them… but not all are.

It’s a little 7″ tablet. Sure the price is awesome, but what’s so exciting about a little toy?
Personal preference. I’m coming from a bulky (IMO) 10″ Acer A500, which was nice but the way I use it the size was a bit much to lug around. Prior to the Acer I owned a Nook Color and the size was right however the speed and OS upgrade options were not.
Cannot wait to get my 16 GB model! Just installed 4.1.1 Jelly Bean over the air to my Galaxy Nexus. Excited to use it on my Nexus 7.

Will it be sold in any stores? I doubt it cuts much into the the iPad and Kindle Fire sales if it is only sold on google’s website especially when they charge nearly $20 to ship it.
what are you talking about? you can walk into Sam’s club and buy them right now. pisses me off cause I pre-ordered mine like most here and the first people getting them are the ones who didn’t pre order. AND they are $5 cheaper and you don’t have to pay shipping. SMH…

I should just cancel my order. I’m leaving town for 3 weeks tomorrow morning. probably better off just picking one up at Sam’s club on my way out tomorrow. Not sure if its possible to cancel the pre order though.
