News of a new update to MadFinger’s DEAD TRIGGER arrived yesterday without word of a launch date, but fan’s of the zombie shoot-em-up didn’t have to wait long to get their hands on a new chainsaw weapon and more. The mobile game maker has announced the availability of the update, which includes several additional weapons, gadgets, environments, and enemies. What’s more, the game is now free to play. MadFinger will focus on in-app-purchases as a means of generating revenue but promises the game will “still remaining funny and fully playable” for those not wishing to spend any dough on virtual items and upgrades. Dead Trigger on Android Free To Play and with Massive Update

So do those of us that paid for the App get our money back. This kind of seems like a big F U to those of us that paid for the app outright. I don’t mind supporting developers but this kind of pisses me off.
Maybe you should email the dev and ask if you can get your full 99 cents refund. If you get it back in all pennies you can throw them in your bed and roll around naked with them. I’m sure that would be much more satisfying to you than letting the devs keep your whole friggin dollar for a game that they could have charged 5 bucks for.
I’m not complaining about the dollar. It’s the principle, and you don’t need to be a condescending jerk. As i said i don’t mind supporting the developers, and i happily do. I happily did. But this is a lame way to do business. Release a new game. Sell it for a month, and then give it away for free, to push the in app purchase side, because selling it wasn’t working. That’s BS.
Exactly. Clearly as a F2P game now they will limit what you can do in game without giving them more money, which is why I never play F2P games. But to have paid for a F2P games is just incredibly lame.

You help the devs buy food or something? Geez people its A DOLLAR. I could understand if you paid 5 bucks or something. The game was allready a steal at 99 cents. I got it mainly for eye candy on my new GS 3, but ended up playing it for a few hours last weekend because it’s actually really fun. I’m ok with being out a dollar for it, and I’m pretty friggin broke lately.
This isn’t the first time Madfinger has screwed its customers. When Shadowgun came out i purchased it right away, and it is an awesome game. So when i bought my new tablet and went to play the game i found that i would have to buy the game all over again if i wanted it to look great on the tablet. And the THD version wont work on any cell phones. So in the end if you have two devices you have to buy the game twice. Thats lame. And its the same for Samurai II, but i wont purchase that for the tablet.
Could you not just play the non THD version on your tablet?
Yeah, I did, but it looks so much sweeter using the thd version. Would have liked to see it as a couple dollar upgrade, rather than a whole new game. It just seems they don’t think things through when it comes to keeping the customer satisfied.

This is the sort of thing I will remember when they release another app paid or not I will not get it. Thanks for nothing, bought this game the day it came out only to be greeted by IAP’s all over and now it is free with not even an offer of currency to reimburse us? Screw you madfinger.
What they should have done is updated the paid version (for people who already bought it, such as myself) with all IAP unlocked, then released a free version where you’re required to pay for upgrades with IAP. Seems like a sensible idea to me, but obviously they couldn’t care less about their current customers.
Yes and I think I know why it is now free, They found another way to make money.
After downloading today and after playing the game I got totally unrelated to the game push ad to my status bar….. I don’t get those, nor will I tolerate that… uninstalled
I bought £4 worth of IAP simply because I thought the game is worth £5. But if they make it free for the people who have paid should get the equivalent amount of in app money simply for good PR.
For those who’s game is broken after updating, uninstall it and re-install it. It’ll run again.
Look, I’d give ’em the dollar just to support the game. It’s a DOLLAR.
