Droid X Falls Into Campfire – Keeps On Ticking [Images]

12

There’s nothing quite like like the taste of fresh toasted marshmallows from the campfire on a warm summer night. The same goes for this Motorola Droid X who almost met an early demise after its owner had a “one too many,” and dropped the X face first into a blazing campfire. I’m sure you’re wondering, did the Droid X make it? Well, it looks like the X is fully functional with the touch screen, physical buttons, camera and earpiece/speaker in mostly working condition. Oh man, those Droids… they do.

  2. Takes a lickin’ and keeps on tickin.

Motorola always was one of those companies that seemed to be able to get excellent build quality out of plastic. HTC’s build quality is probably better, but they also use higher tier materials usually, and I like how Moto can make strong products with generic materials.

    1. Are you implying it’s given you hell? Cause it has been one of the best phones many of us have owned.

  9. I left my Droid X out in a thunderstorm one night. It spent the full night sitting out in the mud getting rained on, and lived to tell the tale.

It is still fully functional from the camera to the speaker to the touch screen. What a great phone! I had so much fun with it once the bootloader was quasi-unlocked!
