Mystery Archos device shows up in GLBenchmark with TI OMAP4
It seems Archos may soon be introducing a new Android device. A listing for one Archos LUDOG10 has popped up at GLBenchmark 2. The listing shows the device will run Android 4.0.4, and will have a weirdly-disproportionate resolution of 1920×1008. We’re not sure if this was a typo in the device’s build.prop or something, but it is plausible considering the more common resolution is 1920×1080.
The device will have TI’s OMAP 4470 processor which houses the PowerVR SGX554. The chipset, due sometime this quarter, has yet to be seen in any other devices. To put it into perspective it will have more power than the likes of the Amazon Kindle Fire, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, the Motorola DROID RAZR, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1.
This is thanks to not only its GPU, but also its 2D graphics core and its higher clock speeds of 1.5-1.8GHz compared to the usual 1.2-1.5GHz. NotebookItalia seems to suggest the device will be a games console not unlike OUYA.
We’re not sure how that works out with it showing a display resolution in the listing but as we have it there’s no evidence to suggest either way. Head to GL Benchmark for the listing.
