Samsung SPH-L300 pictured again — headed to Sprint as Samsung Gogh?
Several new images of the Samsung SPH-L300 have hit the internet courtesy of BriefMobile. The phone, which we first saw pictured back in May, was recently spotted at the FCC sporting Sprint-compatible radios, and the carrier destination is confirmed with this latest leak. The handset, also going under the name Samsung Gogh, features LTE support, a dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, and a 4-inch Super AMOLED display with WVGA resolution. The Gogh also gets 1GB RAM, a 5MP camera, and currently runs Ice Cream Sandwich.
The design of the device is quite different than other phones coming from Samsung’s camp in recent months with a two-toned brushed metal look. The source of the photos appropriately posed the SPH-L300 next to an HTC One X, both to show off its size but also calling forth similarities between the two handsets. A row of three hardware navigation buttons insures we won’t see Android 4.0+’s software navigation keys.
Interestingly, the phone’s specs put the Gogh in a similar class as another rumored Sprint device from Samsung, the Galaxy Reverb. There is nothing to indicate the two phones are indeed the same device, but it seems odd that Sprint would have two mid-range phones from Samsung in the pipeline. We’ll have to wait for pricing and release details to see how Sprint and Samsung’s plans pan out, but unfortunately that information is not known at this time.
