SwiftKey, one of the greatest on-screen keyboards ever, is getting some Olympian attention ahead of the big spectacle. They’ve updated their English language packs for the United Kingdom and the United States to add terms and names related to the 2012 Olympics.
This will give users better autocomplete support for spelling difficult participant names and to type out things such as venues and event names. To get the language pack be sure to head to the settings menu of SwiftKey and hitting the “Update” button under the respective language packs’ names. [via SwiftKey]
Only thing that bothers me about Swiftkey…..when you type a word that is not in their dictionary and it auto-corrects – sometimes you don’t want it to auto-correct or it corrected it wrong. When you tap on that word, it does not revert (or give you the option to revert) back to what you typed.
Swype has this option…when you mistype a word and it auto-corrects, you can later tap on that word and it shows you all of the auto-correct options – INCLUDING what you originally typed.
I like Swiftkey’s keyboard better and their prediction is more accurate but this is an annoying feature.
Nice to see they have time for updates like these but not to fix vital Jelly Bean issues.
