A new press image has surfaced that might provide a clue as to when we can expect the T-Mobule launch of the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze Q. The QWERTY-fied smartphone is shown with a date of Wednesday, August 15th on its home screen, which could be a signifier of the phone’s release date. While not always a sure shot, the “date on the screen” method of divining a phone’s availability has held true in the past.
The Galaxy S Blaze Q is expected to launch with a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4, a 720p display, and Ice Cream Sandwich. In other words, you can expect this device to play as a close relative to the Galaxy S3, the main difference being the addition of a hardware keyboard. We should be learning more very shortly if the August 15th date is to pan out.

some people cant get over qwerty kb, and im one of them, you keep failing at typing on a touch screen phone no matter how many years you use it, or how big the screen is.
Swype has improved ten-fold. You should try it sometime
I have, on my GS3, use it all the time. Still sucks hard compared to my old HTC Desire Z (G2) physical qwerty keyboard. I guarantee you I would type faster and with less errors on that than anyone using any form of virtual keyboard.
One major reason for a qwerty keyboard is running terminal applications to connect to manage web servers over SSH. This is something that is a joke for touch keyboards. And yes – as setspeed stated — I can type circles around Swype. I love Swype too – it functions best for casual messaging. Not for proper e-mails and again, terminal applications.
While I’m not a physical keyboard fan (KILL IT WITH FIRE!!)… /hat.tip for manufacturers using 5 rows.
Finally… Qwerty Samsung on t mobile… Will ditch my s3 for it… I cant belive it…. I. Wating for it since my htc G1….lol
I’m amazed at the continued animosity and lack of understanding toward physical keyboard phones. It doesn’t matter how excellent on-screen keyboards become, you still wind up with a 3″ viewport with a square orientation when composing an email or document (on a phone with a 4.7″ display).
If you don’t do a lot of email or document editing from your phone, ditching the keyboard makes perfect sense. If you need to compose multi-page emails and don’t want to carry a laptop everywhere you go, a keyboard phone is the way to go.
It’s certainly a compromise and not for everyone, but the physical keyboard will remain relevant for many users until a revolutionary change occurs in phone design (or average jeans pocket size).
this looks terribly low end. it honestly looks almost exactly like the og epic 4g. and that came out 2 years ago. they need a new designer desperately. honestly is this the best they can come up with? and btw if thats the real phone the screen looks like its less then 4 inches.
“… terribly low end”? It has a 720p screen and a Snapdragon S4 processor. It seems to be a GSIII with a keyboard.
The design is not the best but it’s not ugliest I have seen. It looks like a GS1 with a keyboard which is why it looks like the Epic 4G. Hopefully, it won’t be as thick. Since it has a keyboard, its screen will probably be around 4 inches (just like the GS1 phones).

Ugh, damnit, I’m due for a new phone, and I’m on T-Mobile, and I want a keyboard… but it’s Samsung. (Irritated Samsung Vibrant owner here.) Why, universe, why?
Too bad the spot for my next phone is reservedfor the next nexus phone or note 2.
As long as the screen is bigger then 4inches this can replace my Sensation
