Lenovo intros three new IdeaPad tablets, one with keyboard dock

4

Count Lenovo among the crowd of companies introducing their latest tablet offerings at this year’s IFA show. Three (mostly) new slates received a formal announcement, from the 7-inch IdeaTab A2107 to the IdeaTab S2110, a device positioned to take on ASUS’ line of Transformer tablets. Also shown off was the IdeaTab S2109.

Lenovo didn’t provide much detail on the A2107, which looks to compete with the likes of the Nindle Fire and Nexus 7. The 7-inch tablet features a Cortex A9 processor of undisclosed clock speed and up to 16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD). It should retail for right around $250. The IdeaTab S2109 is a 9-inch slate with 1280×800 display resolution, a 1.2GHz Tegra 3 chipset, and 16GB of internal storage for $299.

The biggest showing, however, was the IdeaTab S2110 with a 10.1-inch IPS display at 1280×800 resolution and dual-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm CPU. The device is unique in that it features a keyboard dock accessory, positioning it as a direct competitor to the ASUS Transformer Pad. Still, its specs don’t quite stack up at $399 for the S2110 alone or $499 for the tablet and dock.

Overall, not too much to get excited about, but if you needed just a few more Android tablet options you definitely have them here.

  1. Nindle fire? That a Chinese ripoff of the kindle fire ? :)

  2. idealike that you know what I’m sayin!

  3. I was able to get my hands on this tablet for a week 2 weeks ago. Alas, I didn’t get the keyboard dock with it. I did some quick benchmarks:
    AnTuTu Benchmark – 6781
    Quadrant – 4797
    Vellamo – 2203
    CF-Bench Over all Score – 9261
    SunSpider – 1930.1 ms
Battery Test. I looped a 42 minute 720p MKV file with screen at 50% brightness and wifi always connected. Tablet last 9h 14m. I have taken screen shots of all the tests. If we compare to the results to other reviews, the Lenovo lands in the middle of the ASUS Transformer Prime and the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 in terms of benchmark results.I can say I quite like this tablet and it’s responsiveness. It has a custom launcher, but I like it. Other than that, it looks like Ice Cream Sandwich is left alone. Speakers are fairly loud compared to previous tablets. Viewing angle on the screen is great. Oh and the screen itself is very nice! There is a little creakiness to the case- I would say it was similar to what I had in the Asus Transformer. I really dislike the power button- it is plastic-y and hard to push, but manageable. However, the tab is also very thin and light making it easy to read in bed for long periods of time.

  4. the 9 inch one a good price but i wonder how it feels compared to a 10 incher (hehe)
