Alright, so we know the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 on display today at IFA 2012 is running very early software and is not final. That being said, we were still more than curious to see how the device performed in a round of benchmarks. We’ve seen a few early benchmarks of the phablet back when it flew under the radar as the GT-N7100 in a GLBenchmark. Now it’s time to see the rest as tested by the Korean blog SmartDevice.
Quadrant: 6043 (by comparison, the international Galaxy S3 scored a 5200 running ICS). And yes, Quadrant can be easily manipulated — we know this. In this case, it’s a score from a completely stock device running Jelly Bean.
AnTuTu: The score wasn’t picture but the Note was said to receive a score of 13,500 (Galaxy S3 scored around 10,000).
Nenamark2: The Note 2 scored a respectable 55.8 fps thanks to it’s Mali-400 GPU.
And that, my friends, just about rounds it up for the benchmark gauntlet. It’s interesting to see the Galaxy Note 2 scoring better than the Galaxy S3 in many cases, but as I mentioned before, the Note is running a newer software version — Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean to be exact — and a slightly higher clocked 1.6GHz Exynos quad-core, giving it the slight upper hand. It goes without saying that benchmarks are in no way indicative of “real world” speed, so please refrain from comments like, “My device scored over 9,000!” We know. You’re awesome.
I hope the next gs3/ note 2 have a better front camera and with a flash! As a matter of fact it should be standard.
I’ve always hoped/dreamed/wanted a really nice front facing speaker. I don’t know why they always gotta be facing the back? =/
They’re not on the Galaxy Note 10.1, the sound on it is AWESOME!
A really nice speaker on any of the Samsung products would give me reason to upgrade. Sounds like I need to upgrade my gtab 10.1. A nice speaker in a phone now would be good.
My Nokia N79 had two speakers on the right side, which was quite nice. And on the front is what I hope too, those back speakers get stifled all too often :|

I wonder if they can make the loud speaker and the ear (phone) speaker the same speaker and just make it super awesome.
Are Samsung mad? Do they never learn? Have they not just lost a court case?

It not a joke…. They literally JUST won a court case that among other ridiculousness upheld their “valid” patents that cover rectangular smartphones with rounded corners.
You know they really did patent a rectangle right? That’s actually where the joke came from. It was mocking them.
A little more specific though, they patented a black rectangle with rounded corners. Aka what half of TVs have been using for years (the other being a black rectangle with square corners).

Quadrant Standard Benchmark not significantly different than Motorola Atrix HD have score 5011.

My GS3 (US version w/ S4) ran a 5293 Quadrant bone stock. I’m anxious to see what Jelly Bean does to my score.

That benchmark kinda disappoints me… My LTEvo scored close to 6000 on quadrant and had 63 fps on Nenamark2.. I figured that its quad core 1.6ghz processor would run cirlces around my phone, but it only keeps up…

Does Exynos play nice with LTE? That’s why US 4g phones have stuck to the dual core S4, so I’m curious if Exynos is on par or what.

I bet were going to see it on all major carriers, just like the S3. Samsung has realized that they need to make their flagships available to everybody.
I hope so.
They got new Exynos/LTE chip for GSM carriers and it’s already in use for Korean versions. But my understanding is it’s still not ready for CDMA carriers in US, so they should rely on S4 chip until it’s figured out.
They might put quad S4 pro/LTE chips for verizon, sprint versions.
