Not to be outdone by the introduction of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, LG will soon launch a new version of their own plus-sized Optimus Vu. The LG Otpimus Vu was introduced earlier this year and featured a 5-inch display and stylus input, and the new version doesn’t look to change a whole lot from the original.
The display stays the same size and gets a resolution of 1024×768 while the processor, but the processor gets bumped up to a dual-core Snapdragon S4 (Qualcomm MSM8960) coupled with 2GB RAM. Other specs include an 8MP camera, NFC, and LTE support. The battery gets a slight bump up from the previous generation with a rating of 2150mAh. The Vu II will ship with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
LG’s update to the Vu doesn’t make quite the same leap from the first edition as the Note 2 does from Samsung’s previous phablet. With a 5-inch device rumored from HTC, the market for the form factor looks to get a bit more crowded this holiday season. LG seems to be banking on software experiences such as a new universal remote app to help narrow the margin.

Didn’t the original Vu just launch on Verizon?
Whats the point in lauching w/ ICS ?? .. your going against tough competition already at least release w/ Jelly Bean !! Your setting yourself up for failure
That’s the LG way and why they fail.
Going to have to with that great line from National Lampoon’s Vacation about the Family Truckster Station Wagon:
“You think you hate it now, but wait until you drive it.”
Does LG know about jelly bean ? cause all their recent flag ship phones including he LG optimus G come with ICS >.>, almost like they dint get the memo that their is a new version out, i don’t see why they don’t just skip ICS and go straight to jelly bean there’s no point in wasting a couple months porting ICS and then another couple months to get jelly bean.
^^^ This guy! I nominate you for LG CEO.
I would really love to know where i could find accurate sales numbers on this device after two months or so. I’m getting the note 2 and I really don’t think this will sell well AT ALL!
The original literally just launched, this tells me there’s something wrong with the original design, likely battery consumption. Either way nowhere to store the stylus and a RETARDED aspect ratio make this epic fail.
seems like gud phone ”
