LG has finally made the LG Optimus Vu 2 official, announcing the all new follow up to their original unwieldy device barely 6 months after it was made available in Korea (quick enough to make even Motorola blush).
For the Vu 2, we have the same 5-inch 4:3 aspect ratio display but you’ll notice a new home button on the front, 1.5GHz Qualcomm S4 MSM8960 processor, 2GB of RAM, slightly larger 2,150mAh battery, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, 8MP rear/1.3MP front facing cameras, NFC, IR blaster (with matching QRemote app turning the device into a universal smart remote), VoLTE capabilities, and handy “One Key” accessory that when pressed, can help locate your missing Vu (but judging by the Vu’s size, you’re not very likely to lose it).
The LG Optimus Vu 2 is launching in its homeland of South Korea for $864 in black, white or pink color varieties. We’ll have to wait for another announcement before we learn if/or when this will be making its way stateside. Is anyone out there fond of the Vu’s 4:3 form factor?
