Once rumored to be a followup to the Galaxy Nexus, Samsung has made the Galaxy Premier official for release in the Ukraine. The phone does share some elements in common, including a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED HD display and dual-core TI OMAP processor, though it has been bumped up to a 1.5GHz 4470 rather than the 4460 found in the Galaxy Nexus.
Other specs include 1GB RAM, an 8MP rear camera and 1.9MP front camera, and NFC support. The phone shares in the design language that has dictated the look of the Galaxy S3 and more recently Galaxy Note 2, though it seems like an interesting release considering the device fits in a similar class as the Galaxy S3 Mini.
So we can officially scratch the Galaxy Premier off our list of possible Nexus handsets, though it is looking less and less likely that rumors of an expanded Nexus smartphone lineup with devices from several manufacturers will come to pass. Those in the Ukraine can expect the Premier to land sometime in November for a price of 5,555 Ukrainian hryvnias, or about $680.
i love your phones and my new note 2 but please samsung.. stop… please… seriously, wtf are you doing? freakin stop making so many damn phones.
Galaxy nexus left over parts.
did you announce the winner to the contest
Galaxy Nexus & SGS3 had a child and this is what it looked like.
$680 for this and $300 for nexus 4
seriously????
How the h@ll do I make these black bar ads go away!?! They are driving me insane and I’m getting sick of visiting this site anymore. Using chrome or dolphin browser on my gnex and n7, when I push the x, either the link opens or nothing happens! Only 1% of the time the link actually closes. I’m going nuts over them bc they will move right in the way of where I am reading and they are slowing down disqus scrolling. Please get rid of these phandroid. I know I cant be the only one having problems
is your phone root? if so download the “ad free” from the play store and run it. Let me know if it is still there, my S3 doesn’t show anything, but my girlfriend S3 does show the ad. I know it’s pretty annoying.

Yeah both are rooted. I’ll give it a try. I have a higher success rate on the tablet closing the ads but I spend several minutes per article on my phone just trying to close them and close the popups that open from it before I can even read the article.
They are annoying, but I don’t think that is what is slowing down disqus. Ever since they updated disqus this year, the mobile experience has been downright terrible.
never knew this site had an ad, I use ad block plus for chrome and no ads at all. it even skips youtube ads.
You could always download and use the Phandroid app, which happens to work flawlessly. No ads.
there’s ads?
I had a similar issue with those ads on my Dinc2 (running CM9)… Install the AdAway app. All gone.
why not just buy the s3 if the price is basically the same..?
There must be a mistake somewhere on the price. At $680, it would be a miracle if Samsung could sell more than a couple of units worldwide. And for the people who have bought it. They will return it as soon as they realize there are better and/or cheaper phones.
Anyone else hate the Samsung UI. You can’t add icons but almost halfway up the screen.
I actually like the look of this phone quite a bit, but yeah, it doesn’t seem like specs/price wise it is going to be competitive. And unless it is super popular it will probably not be supported well either by Samsung or by devs…
What’s the point of this phone?
Too bad this wasn’t coming to VZW with LTE. I think the GS3 is just too damn big, and Google doesn’t know how to make an CDMA/LTE phone like the entire rest of the world does.
For what it’s priced at I would just buy a Gs3 or Note 2.
