While many think 8GB and even 16GB of storage wasn’t enough for their tablet needs, there are some deals that might make purchasing the lower capacity Nexus 7 tablets a bit irresistible. With the Nexus 7 32GB on its way it looks like some retailers are trying to clear stock, and Staples is the latest to offer an eye-popping deal.
Folks at SlickDeals are reporting that the retailer is selling the 8GB Nexus 7 for a mere $160 in its stores. This is by far one of the most attractive prices we’ve seen for this tablet. With no microSD card slot to make up for the mere 8GB of internal storage some of you might still be a bit turned off, but for this price we’re sure a couple of you “on the fence” folks will find a way to justify the minuscule amount.
The Nexus 7 features some very beefy internals, including NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 chipset, 1GB of RAM, NFC and more. The 7 inch display makes it a nice, comfortable compromise between phone and the 10-inch tablets that seem to have been popular over the past two years.
If you’re looking for an inexpensive tablet to give someone for Christmas then I don’t see how you can’t consider this deal. Be sure to call your local Staples store to confirm they have them in stock (and for the $160 price tag that will draw most of you in the first place).
Might be worth it for my twin 3 year old girls…so they stop playing with my Transformer Prime.
It went on clearance back when the 32gb came out according to my staples. Sucks..
I still really don’t know what I’d use a tablet for but these price drops keep making it harder and harder to resist!
I already cracked when they were 200
idk, its a great price, but 8GB forces you to use cloud storage. I do a lot of traveling and don’t always have the convenience of a wifi connection, so storage is pretty crucial that being said, it would have to drop to $100 at 8GB too offset the inconvenience the lack of storage presents
Yea 8Gb is hard to swallow, especially when some of that is being used up by the OS.
8gb is very low but $100 that is extreme. at $150 it is still beyond cheap in the tablet world, thats asking to much.
It is very cheap. I’m just saying, for what I need, I would only give in if it dropped to $100 To of set the lack of practicality.
Just bought mine.
would be great if it could connect to my tv. Would be a great media player. But since that doesn’t work oh well.
I want one for my son so bad. This price is so tempting. But my sons 8gb ipod touch fills up super fast. When i do get the Nexus 7 for him to replace the ol ipod touch itll have to be the 16 or 32gb.
My 6yo daughter is the same way. She’s so fickle about what she watches/plays on your iPhone 3G. 8GB’s is just too small, I’m debating whether to give her my 3GS or get her a Nexus 7 16GB… Kids & Parents today. ; ]
Does this tablet support USB OTG to connect a flash drive?
Got one in ny also got $10 off
wow…… I put it off due to pack of storage. my Xoom has 32 internal and 32 SD card. but this is tempting just for Dorking around on!
