HTC’s Desire line lives on with the announcement of the Desire U, a low-end smartphone headed to China and Taiwan. The Android 4.0 smartphone features a 4-inch display, 1GHz single-core processor, and 5MP camera along with 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and microSD support.
Exact pricing for the Desire U was not announced, but expect the phone to command something on the cheaper side considering the specs. At this point, there seem to be no plans to release this one in other regions, though it would make sense for other emerging markets.

I love HTC, but I don’t see how this phone has Sense 4, but yet they give the Rezound with twice as good specs Sense 3.6.
HTC typically doesn’t upgrade the version of sense that the phone comes with. they update the android versions but keep sense the same. most customers would get confused if after an update sense was different. I don’t blame them.
Right but didn’t the Rezound ship with Sense 3.0? It got upgraded from 3.0 to 3.6. 3.6 is basically the same as 4.0, just nowhere near as good looking. The jump from 3.0 to 3.6 has a good bit of difference.
The phone itself looks very stylish for low end.
I thought HTC said they’re only doing high-end from 2012 going forward? what’s this?
